U.S. equity markets posted gains in all three indexes last week. The S&P 500 gained 0.61%, the NASDAQ Composite gained 0.48%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.66%. Nine of the 11 sectors were up last week; Energy, which posted the largest gain, was up by 6.68%. Nine of the 11 Quantified Funds were up last week: The Quantified Tactical Sectors Fund (QTSSX) was up 8.68%, the Quantified Market Leaders Fund (QMLFX) was up 4.01%, the Quantified Evolution Plus Fund (QEVOX) was up 2.30%, the Quantified Pattern Recognition Fund (QSPMX) was up 1.16%, the Quantified STF Fund (QSTFX) was up 1.05%, the Quantified Alternative Investment Fund (QALTX) was up 1.01%, the Quantified Common Ground Fund (QCGDX) gained 0.55%, the Quantified Rising Dividend Tactical Fund (QRDTX) was up 0.39%, the Quantified Managed Income Fund (QBDSX) was up 0.34%, the Quantified Tactical Fixed Income Fund (QFITX) was flat, and the Quantified Government Income Tactical Fund (QGITX) was down 0.10%. The Market Environment Indicator (MEI) remained bullish last week. Equity asset-class allocations in the Quantified Market Leaders Fund were as follows: Small-Cap Value (30.25%), Mid-Cap Value (22.70%), Large-Cap Value (15.14%), and International Developed (7.57%). Total sector ETF weightings were at 75.66%, holding nearly equal exposures in Banking, Financial Services, Retail, and Energy. The cash level within the Quantified Alternative Investment Fund increased by 1.10% last week (20.24%). The largest allocation increase and decrease within the Quantified Alternative Investment Fund (QALTX) last week were the following: Allocation to the iShares Global Consumer Discretionary ETF (RXI, 2.74%) increased by 1.50%, while allocation to the iShares Global Materials ETF (MXI, 3.24%) decreased by 1.60%. Last week, the funds were up 0.64% and 1.25%, respectively. The 10% capital allocation of the volatility-based systematic trading of NASDAQ 100 Index futures started the week at 5% net long, changed to 6% net long on Tuesday, changed to 7% net long on Thursday, and changed to 6% net long on Friday. The QFC Self-adjusting Trend Following strategy’s signal exposure in the NASDAQ 100 Index (NDX) held a 200% exposure throughout the week. The Quantified STF Fund (QSTFX) was up 1.05% for the week, compared to a gain of 0.62% on the NASDAQ 100 Index (NDX) and a gain of 0.60% for the Rydex Series NASDAQ 100 Fund (RYHOX), a current potential holding of the STF strategy. The Quantified Managed Income Fund’s (QBDSX) two leading broad-bond index ETF holdings are the iShares Barclays 1-3 Year Treasury Bond ETF (SHY, 23.11%) and the SPDR Barclays Capital High Yield Bond ETF (JNK, 9.10%). Last week, the funds were down 0.01% and up 0.43%, respectively. Cash was at 11.90%. The 10-year U.S. Treasury yield closed the week down 2.57%. The 12% active portfolio exposure to 30-year U.S. Treasury bond futures in the Fund had a 1% net short exposure throughout the week. The S&P E-mini Futures started the week with a 6% net short exposure, changed to an 8% net short exposure on Wednesday, and remained there for the rest of the week. The Quantified Pattern Recognition Fund (QSPMX) held a 200% net long exposure throughout the week. The Quantified Tactical Fixed Income Fund (QFITX) held a 6.60% net short exposure to Treasurys and a 19.20% net long exposure to high-yield bonds throughout the week. The Quantified Evolution Plus Fund (QEVOX) changed to the following allocations: 26% in the S&P, 28% in real estate, 35% in international equity, and 11% in gold. The Quantified Common Ground Fund (QCGDX) had a 3.98% cash exposure. The Fund’s largest allocations were to Magellan Health Inc. (MGLN, 6.09%) and Deckers Outdoor Corporation (DECK, 5.71%).
